WHY DSLR IS A BETTER CHOICE THAN MIRRORLESS IN 2025

 Let's talk about what type of camera gear to get in this day and age, you might think investing in mirrorless is the way to go since it's the future but hear me out before you buy that mirrorless camera and let me tell you why getting a DSLR is the better options instead.

In my opinion there is just one powerful reason why DSLR is the options

1. Price

    There is just no beating DSLR right now in terms of price, you can get a lot of great used professionals camera and lenses, and that's a big deal, in my opinions it is much better getting a professional used body instead of getting an entry level new camera, you will get so much bank for your buck, and the reasons for that is:

            A. Amazing sensors

                One of the things that I learned is that sensor technologies now adays only really improves in their read out speed, and since most people are going to shoot with a mechanical shutter, that advantage doesn't matter, and if you can get over the loud noise from the mirror slapping, you'll be rewarded with quality sensors, because the truth is the dynamic range and iso performance have not really been improving much, so you are not going to miss out on much by getting an old professionals cameras.

            B. Amazing build qualities 

                My biggest pet peeves on entry level camera is the build quality, they are mostly plastic, not weather sealed, and just have bad ergonomics such as not having a joystick or not having as much buttons or just a very cramp buttons, even though they are tinier, but I'll gladly get a bigger camera if it means I'll get a more robust build quality.

            C. Autofocus

                The main reason why DSLR was so big (no pun intended) with professionals is the autofocus, mirrorless on sensors autofocus was still in its early stage meanwhile DSLR autofocus has been very good for a long time, sure now adays there are entry level camera with good autofocus, but you can get DSLR for cheaper and still have an amazing autofocus.

            D. Battery life

  

                 We all know how much better DSLR is when it comes to battery life, especially when you compare it to an entry level mirrorless because for whatever reasons they love to just put a tiny battery in their entry level camera

            E. Dual card slot

                Trust me you need this, the last thing you want is to get an error messages saying that your memory card is corrupted, in my experience I have got two corrupted SD card and I lost all my photos, and again for whatever reasons camera manufactures love to just give you one card slot in their entry level camera.

            F. Future proof

                This is something that a lot of people don't think about, with infesting in DSLR you don't have to worry about buying new lenses when you do upgrade down the line, not to mentions you don't have to stuck with the same manufactures as well, but if you go and buy mirrorless and want to switch brand you need to sell all your lenses and start new, but with DSLR lenses you don't have to, because you can just buy an adapter for it and then you can still use your old lenses that you already collected.

That's it, for why I think getting a DSLR is a much better choice than mirrorless in 2025, in the next post I will list all the DSLR cameras that I think you can just use for the rest of your life without needing to upgrade anymore because these cameras that I'm about to tell you is that good.
