ALL DSLR THAT STILL WORTH GETTING IN 2025

I have done a lot of research and tried a lot of different cameras and here is all the DSLR that I think is still worth getting and you probably not going to upgrade anytime soon,

in my opinion there are three manufacturers who has made a very good camera with amazing ecosystem that worth investing, and the reasons why I don't put Sony, Olympus, or the other DSLR manufactures mostly because of the lenses, and no, it's not because their lenses are bad but it's mostly because, at least where I'm these lenses and cameras are hard to get and in such a bad conditions, that is why I choose these three companies because they are so easy to get, like I have said before one of my reasons to get a DSLR is because of the lenses, since you can very much use your DSLR lenses on any mirrorless body in case you want to upgrade later and that's a huge plus because these lenses can get expensive.

The list will be ordered so the first spot is what I recommended the most while the last is my least recommended

So, without further ado let's start the list!!!

                1. Nikon

Nikon would be my first recommendations, if you are someone that care about image quality you can't get any better than Nikon DSLR and that is not an opinion, there are many third parties who tested it and conclude on how much better Nikon sensors are compared to Canon cameras, the dynamic range and the iso performance are very much still holding up to this day, proven by the fact that a lot of their sensors are still being used on their mirrorless camera, and not to mentions their autofocus are also superb, there are reasons why Nikon cameras are very popular with wildlife photographer.

A. Nikon D850

Nikon D850, where do i start with this one, in my opinion this is the king of DSLR, a 46MP full frame sensor, 7 FPS (9 FPS with battery grip), 153 AF points with 99 of them being cross-type (have the same autofocus system as the flagship D5), 51 shots buffer in the highest settings, focus peaking, big screen and big OVF, rugged build, amazing DR and also low light performance and this camera was released in 2017 but the sensor is still being used in the mirrorless Nikon Z7II, and that proves on how good this camera sensor is, other than not having an IBIS I couldn't think much of  a downside to this camera, it really is a camera that will excel in any type of photography you throw at it, from wildlife to landscape to streets it can handle anything

B. Nikon D810

So yeah I was debating on whether or not to put this since I have put the Nikon D850 here, but when I think about it more, it definitely belong on this list, it basically a worse versions of the D850, it has slower burst rate, smaller buffer, slower autofocus, and also lower resolutions BUT not by much so it is still a very good camera, so if you can't get the D850 I think you should get the D810 because you are not going to miss a lot of features from the D850, but if you do a lot of wildlife or birding I think the next on the list would be better for you.

C. Nikon D500

If the Nikon D850 the camera that can do everything, then the Nikon D500 is the camera that do one thing extremely well, which is birding and wildlife, and in my opinion if you primally do wildlife and birding, I think this is the better options than getting a D850, because not only it got the same type of autofocus system from the D5 and D850, it has an APSC size sensor so you will get more reach out of your lenses, so you don't need to carry a huge and expensive lenses, the reasons why I said this camera do one thing extremely well is not because this is a bad camera for anything else, in fact this sensor is still being used in their new mirrorless camera so the performance from this 20MP APSC sensor is still very good, I just think that for the price of this camera you can get a higher resolutions camera with also a bigger size sensors which will benefits you a lot more in any other scenarios.

D. Nikon D750

and this will be the last camera I recommend from Nikon, and i just want to say, even though this is on the bottom of the list, doesn't mean it is bad, trust me this is a very good camera, it's just the other is better, but yeah with this you will be getting a 24MP full frame sensor, and with like any other Nikon sensors it still a very good performer, and if you are someone that does not need high resolutions like the 46MP from D850 or even the 36MP from the D810, and you mostly shoots something slow like landscape or streets, then i think you should go for the D750, it's just a much better options in my opinions since its way lighter and cheaper.

                    2. Canon

Canon has been THE camera company for a very long time, many professionals and casuals photographer choose canon as their first ever camera, so why do I put them in second place, its mostly because of image quality, canon since a very long time have been making their own sensor unlike many other company who mostly used Sony sensors, which is very admirable in my opinion, and even though today their sensors are very good and go head to head with other manufactures and I might say even better, that can't be said the same for their DSLR era, sadly a lot of their DSLR sensors are not up to par compare to the competitions, and that is why I only put APSC camera here, since I think that is where canon have a lot of advantages when compared to the competitions.

A. Canon 80D

So why did i start with the 80D and not with the 90D, yes the 90D is the better camera in every single way, but honestly i think 80D is more than enough for a lot of people, it is such a well balance camera with good sensors, and good autofocus, rugged build, Dual pixels autofocus and more importantly is the varied angle screens which will help you compose in so many ways, and yeah if you are some one that wants an APSC that can do a lot i think 80D is the answers, and i might even prefer it than the Nikon D500 for everything else other than wildlife and birding, the varied angle screens plus dual pixel autofocus seriously will help your shooting experience.

B. Canon 90D

This is the successor of the 80D, and yeah I can't say much about this camera other than it is just the better versions of the 80D, the only reasons why I put the 90D is because it is the only high resolutions APSC options that you can get for cheap, with its 33MP APSC sensor, it holds the title of the highest resolutions on APSC sensor for a long time until Fuji came out with its 40MP sensors, so yeah if you need the upgraded video features and high resolutions this might be for you.

C. Canon 7D MKII

I might be biased here since I use the 7DMKII right now, but honestly I think it deserved a spot, before the amazing Nikon D500,  this camera was the go to for a lot of people on a  budget for wildlife and birding even for today I honestly think this is such a good camera if you are on a budget and want to do some wildlife and birding, it has 20MP APSC size sensor, fast burst rate, amazing autofocus even better than the newer 90D, so yeah if you want to do wildlife and birding but can't afford the D500 (like me) you should totally go for this and get the 400 F5.6 and you got your self an amazing wildlife combo for a very cheap price.

                        3. Pentax

So, this might be a surprise but there is a reason why I put Pentax here, because they do offer you something that the other two manufactures don't and I got to be honest they might be the better options for one specifics type of photography.

A. Pentax K1

Landscape Photography, if you love landscape photography get this camera, even though it had the same 36MP sensors as the D810, it has a whacky screen that you can angle however you like, not to mentions it has In Body Image Stabilizations or IBIS for short, and that will help you with a ton of things , such as help you with low shutter speed and shacky hands, pixel shift features that will get you a much detailed pictures than the advertise 36MP and Pentax have this features way before other manufactures, and if you love taking pictures of stars this camera IBIS will use the built in GPS to move the sensors to follow the stars so that you can get a sharp stars images even when you are doing long exposures, so why is it the last then, it mostly comes down to autofocus, Pentax camera can't really compete with Canon and Nikon in terms of autofocus which I think limits its used by a lot, not to mentions the slow burst on this camera, and that is why I think this will be a very good landscape camera and I might even choose this over the D850 for landscape, but if you shoot any fast moving subject I think you should pick cameras from Canon or Nikon.

And that would be my list of all the amazing DSLR that I think still worth getting in 2025, there are a ton of DSLR that I want to put on this list such as the amazing Canon 5DSR  or Pentax K3 III, but yeah I do think that these are the better options, so please let me know about my list if you agree with me or not!
